The Plain English Guide to Mikup's Terms & Privacy

Hey there. Nobody likes reading endless pages of complicated legal jargon, so we decided to write our rules in plain, human English.

Whether you are hosting a massive festival, a luxury wedding, or just dropping some photos into a friend's birthday gallery, here is exactly how Mikup works, what we do with your data, and what we expect from you.

By using Mikup, you are agreeing to these basic ground rules.

1. The Golden Rule of Your Memories

Your photos belong to you. Not us.

We are a tech utility, not a data broker. Our business model is selling premium storage space to event hosts. We do not sell your photos to advertisers, we do not feed your videos into weird facial recognition algorithms, and we do not track you across the internet. You are paying us for a service, and we respect that transaction.

2. Who Gets to See Your Uploads?

Mikup is designed for shared, collaborative events.

When you scan a QR code at an event and upload a photo, you are adding it to a public timeline for that specific event. Anyone else who has that event's link or QR code can see, favorite, or download the media you upload.

For Guests: Don't upload anything you wouldn't want the host (or their grandmother) to see.

For Hosts: You hold the master remote control. If someone uploads something blurry, inappropriate, or just plain bad, you have the absolute right to delete it from the gallery instantly from your dashboard.

3. What We Actually Collect

To make the platform work instantly without forcing you to download an app, we have to collect a few basic things:

  • The Media: The actual photos and videos you hit "upload" on.
  • Your Display Name: If you choose to type one in so the host knows who took the picture.
  • Basic Device Info: We check if you are on a phone or a laptop (and what browser you are using) strictly so our system knows how to compress the images properly so they upload fast on venue Wi-Fi.
  • Cookies: We use tiny session cookies just to remember that you are logged into a specific event, so you don't have to keep rescanning the QR code every time you open your phone.

4. The Lifespan of Your Galleries

Nothing lasts forever unless you specifically pay for it to.

We offer different tiers of storage (Free, Mini, Grand, and Luxe). When a host's complimentary hosting timeline expires, we give them a clear warning and a chance to renew.

If they choose not to renew, the gallery gets permanently deleted from our servers. Once it's gone, it's gone. It is the host's responsibility to use the "Download All" feature to save their memories before their timeline runs out.

5. Play Nice (The Dealbreakers)

Mikup is built for celebrations, festivals, and good times. If you use our platform to upload illegal content, hate speech, explicit non-consensual material, or spam, we will permanently nuke the gallery without a refund and ban you from the platform. Just keep it clean and celebratory.

6. Payments and Refunds

If you buy a premium event vault, you are paying for the server space upfront. Because we immediately allocate that expensive cloud storage for your event, we generally do not offer refunds once an event has started and media has been uploaded.

7. Need to talk to us?

If you want us to manually delete a photo, wipe your account, or if you just have a question about how your data is handled, you don't have to jump through hoops. Just email us at contact@paokhum.com and a real human will help you out.
